我伫立在清澈的湖水中,静静绽放着美丽的蓝色花朵,典雅而娇羞。我叫凤眼莲,zǔ jí南美洲,是著名的水生观赏植物。我不但中看,而且还很中用呢!由于我可以生产出大量的饲料,特别是我独具的净化水质的才能,使我在家乡备受qīng lài。家乡的人们都夸我“才貌双全”。

世界上许多国家都看中我的这种才能,一股脑儿地赶来,想方设法请我去帮助他们改善水环境。说实话,谁愿意背井离乡啊?可是一看到他们那期盼的眼神,谁又能忍心拒绝呢?于是,我和我的兄弟姐妹们被带往世界各地,我就是20世纪30年代,怀着一腔清洁水质、造福民众的责任感,不远万里,来到中国。

刚来时,我可真没gū fù中国人民的期望,不但治理了不少遭受污染的河道,而且作为饲料,为中国的养殖业立下了大大的功劳。因此,我被作为观赏和净化水质的植物而推广到中国各地,大家都亲切地叫我“水葫芦”。

然而,随着我们在中国各地放手的工作,我们的噩梦也随之而来了。“珠江水系告急,太湖水系告急!”“绞杀异己,阻塞河道,泛滥成灾!”“危害中国生态环境的大毒草,破坏滇池风光的冷面杀手!”一夜之间,英雄变狗熊。整治水葫芦的战役在各地纷纷打响,我成了人人得而诛之的恶魔杀手。

我承认,由于我的过度繁殖,确实造成了淤塞水道、河湖,导致其它水生植物死亡的现象。但这并不是我的本意,只是因为我实在无法控制自身的特质。

我的身体有一种与众不同的特质:我有两种繁殖本领。只要条件合适,我就可以依靠匍匐枝和母枝分离的方式进行无性繁殖,使植株数量在5天内增加一倍;也可以通过开花结果产生种子的方式进行有性生殖,一朵花大约能结300粒种子,沉积在水下的种子可以存活5年∽10年。我身体的这种物质使我的生命力显得特别旺盛,这是我的祖先为了适应环境练就的生存本领,因为在我的家乡南美洲,我们要面对200多种天敌的追杀。可在中国,我们的天敌却少得可怜,于是就造成了我们所到之处无可匹敌的局面。
